A fun weekend with my family
It's been a while since I've remembered to blog... oh, well. Parenting is distracting.
This weekend's been fun. Yesterday we went out to see things - first we went by the Cherry Creek Farmer's Market, where we picked up some interesting pie and ravioli, and also found a really cute dress for Rose. We also got some neat snacks, nibbling on some Pirogi and Chinese dumplings.
Once we were done with that, we wandered off to the Valverde Bazaar, which was near enough to where we lived. Lots of interesting antiques, scrap, and various bits of art - my wife got a garden decoration made from sticking together various sunny plates and glass dishes, and I picked up four dark red scrabble tiles that spell out R-O-S-E... as well as looked over some really nifty typewriters. For some reason, I really like the idea of getting a nice looking typewriter.
After that my wife dropped me and Rose off at the Barnum Park for Rose to enjoy the playground after being so good at the shopping. She went off to look for some interesting plates at the Arc thrift store, which was advertising a 50% off sale.
Today's been fun too - Tammy and I hosted a couple of friends over for brunch, Carol and Matthew, and it was nice, so we hung out on the front porch and nibbled various muffins and such while Rose made bubbles on the lawn. After our guests left, Rose wanted to play some more, so we set up her water table from last year and filled it with water. Rose got soaked! But she had fun.
Only real downside to today is that my new puddlejumper toy that Rose and I like to play with got stuck on the roof. But I'll just get another one soon.
After spending the whole week inside an office with code and databases, it's been nice to be out and having fun.
